Depending on the equipment package, the vehicle could also be fitted with the adaptive DCC electronic damping system, which allows suspension stiffness to be adjusted to different driving conditions and driver preferences.

Powerful braking performance is provided by a braking system featuring ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear, supported by electronic brake-force distribution, ABS and the ESC electronic stability control system. The front brakes feature distinctive red brake callipers with GTI lettering, further emphasising the vehicle's sporty character.

The exterior design of the Golf 8 GTI is recognisable by its aggressively styled front bumper with large air intakes, the characteristic red line extending across the front grille and connecting the headlights, GTI badges and sporty side skirts. The standard performance figures of 245 hp described here refer to the original version introduced in 2020.
